Minister Koenders was very impressed by the magnitude of the devastation of the formerly beautiful and productive peatswamp forest and by the efforts of the project to restore the area.
The project partners are very pleased by the decision about the extension. It enables the project to finalise activities like canal blocking, reforestation and providing alternative livelihoods in a proper and sustainable way.
